Programme & Registration – SAG Lecture Day in Białowieża

Registration for the SAG Lecture Day is now open.
It will take place on 1st October 2025, at the end of the SAG Summer School, in Białowieża (Poland).

With well-known speakers from Poland and other European countries, we are happy to present a diverse range of international contributions:

The Białowieża National Park and ‘The oldest tree in Poland’ will be among the topics.
Moreover, Neville Fay and Paul Muir will report on their experiences in dealing with veteran trees. Steffen Rust will present new research findings on the stability of dead trees and eco torsi, and we will learn more about the ecology of wood-inhabiting fungi and the changes in the mechanical properties of wood during wood decay.

The detailed programme, including a link to the registration form, can be downloaded HERE.

The lectures will be held in English and Polish. Translation will be provided in both directions.

On the evening before the event, there will also be a barbecue for everyone, to which we kindly invite you!

With its ancient trees, Białowieża National Park has a lot to offer those interested in tree statics. If you have always wanted to visit, you can now combine this with participation in the SAG Lecture Day.

The SAG Summer School will also take place in Białowieża from 28th to 30th of September.
Participants who are not SAG members are welcome to attend. However, as members have priority in the registration process, registration for non-members will only be possible at a later date.

After the series of events, on 2nd October, the annual general meeting of SAG Tree Statics will be held in Białowieża. Participation via video streaming will be possible.

We look forward to your participation in the Lecture Day!
